Top 25 Destinations in the World, 55,000 United Miles, & More Chase Bonus Shrinkage!

Lots of fun stuff to write about today. Well, and one not so fun thing (bonus shrinkage!). Let’s start with the positive:

50,000 United Miles credit card is now 55,000 + $50 Statement Credit?

Darius from Million Mile Secrets posted today about the normal 50,000 United Miles card after first purchase, and how you may be able to get an extra 5,000 miles by adding an authorized user and a $50 statement credit after 1st purchase. The terms state in the first 2 months of membership. You can potentially find this offer by logging into your United account, and then clicking this LINK. If you’ve already applied and been approved for the card, then send Chase a secure message in your account and ask for your offer to be matched to receive the extra 5k miles & $50 statement credit. I was approved for this card a month ago, and I am sending a message today!

Chase Ink Bold offer is changing tomorrow…

If you had been planning on applying for the Ink Bold card (see TOP DEALS), you better do it today, and you better do it on somebody’s website who has affiliate links (they receive a referral payment). The old link, that’s still live on affiliate sites gets you 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months. The offer is changing tomorrow to 25,000 points after 1st purchase, and another 25,000 points after spending $10,000 in the first 3 months. That’s double the minimum spend required! Ouch! This is an awesome business card, and Ultimate Rewards are incredible. There was also een a 2 day link to get 60,000 points for this card, so you may be able to email them for a 10,000 points bonus. I’m debating applying tonight, even though I just applied for a Chase card 5 weeks ago. So many offers, so many miles, so many points. “Collect ‘Em All!”. If you want the $5k link, you can find it from some of my favorite bloggers – Just Another Points Traveler, The Points Guy, or Million Mile Secrets.

And now finally… Something a little different, but sweet:

How many have you been to?!

I’ve been to all of the bolded one’s. 8 of the Top 10, but only 14 of the Top 25. I’ve been traveling non-stop for several years, but it’s a huge world, with so much left to see! It’s crazy to me that I haven’t been to the #1 location, and it’s also surprising to me that Cape Town was voted #1. I hang out with a lot of travelers, and I don’t know if I’ve ever had one say “My absolute favorite place I’ve ever been was Cape Town, South Africa!”. I’ve heard that it’s great, and I’d lovvvveee to go, but it surprised me a little. I’ve been all over the United States more than most people, due to playing over 1,000 shows across America with my band (my full-time job, see ABOUT ME). We’ve also toured Europe a few times, and I’ve had more than a couple of vacations over there. Kyoto, Japan was an interesting one on the list. I love Japan, and I LOVE Tokyo.. Pretty much everything about Japan, I love. I had the opportunity to go there when I was vacationing there in March of last year. During the tsunami, mind you. Long story, for another post, another time. I opted out b/c I wasn’t that interested in visiting a bunch of Buddhist temples.

New Zealand… don’t get me started!! Oh how I would LOOVVVEEE to go there and do every adventure sport known to man for 2 months straight. Or. Forever! Someday.

Lots of cool places on that list. What do you think about them, and how many have YOU been to?!
