Travel Schedule

I always say that if you want to “stalk me”, you can follow me on Twitter. Please don’t stalk me, but you can follow my travel plans throughout Ecuador on our free days (Monday), and the occasional trips I’m able to take these days. After I quit my band and made a long term move to South America to be a full-time missionary in Ecuador, the opportunity to leave and travel isn’t quite as often as it used to be.

CURRENTLY – Living in Ambato, Ecuador.

July 4 – 9, 2014   – Cancun, Mexico birthday & 4th of July trip!
20k United miles round trip from Quito, Ecuador. ThankYou points for airport transfers, 2 tours, & Hyatt gift checks for food. Hyatt points for Hyatt Regency & SPG Points for Cancun Aloft.

Aug 10 – 14, 2014 – Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
20k United miles round trip from Quito, Ecuador. Barclays Arrival points for $15/night all-inclusive hotel. Deal is over now but can’t wait to go back for my 3rd time!

Dec 23, 2014 – Jan 2, 2015 – USA trip for Christmas with family/friends & New Years at IHOP-KC’s One Thing conference
57,500 Delta miles round trip from Quito, Ecuador (yuck!). I personally hate Delta miles but have a 6 figure balance, so when the opportunity comes up to burn them at even a decent rate, I do! Nothing was showing up for Christmas flights on United or American for less than 80k r/t so I consider this a deal. When you’re points rich, you gotta spend ‘em!

March – July, 2015 – EPIC 4 month trip to Madrid, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Nepal, Dubai, & move back to USA!
Will be spending around 150,000 AA miles to fly Biz Class & 25k BA Avios miles (coach) for the flights. Starting with a few days in Madrid, staying on Marriott points. Then will be spending 2 months in Egypt and taking advantage of the Hilton Category 1 hotels at only 4k points a night (5k/night w/5th night free)! 6 weeks on the Red Sea for only 160,000 Hilton points? SIGN ME UP!  Then off to Israel & Jordan to see the Holy Land, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Petra, many ruins, and much more! From there? A 10 day whitewater rafting trip in Nepal and 17 days of trekking the Annapurna Circuit in the mighty Himalaya mountains! Very excited for that. Closing out the trip in the richest city in the world, Dubai! I’ve always wanted to go and am stoked to spend 4th of July weekend and my 27th birthday there. Will be redeeming Club Carlson points, Hyatt points, & Flexperk points for the hotels. All in, the trip is going to cost next to nothing. The airline award flight taxes will be covered by my Barclays Arrival card (I LOVE THAT CARD!), flights booked on miles, hotels booked on hotel points. All I gotta do is cover my food, some hiking hostels in Nepal, rafting, and some bus travel in the Middle East. All in it will cost me less than it would to live for a few weeks in America. Speaking of America, after this trip I’m moving BACK to America! That will be a culture-shock and a wild change after 2.5 years in South America, but I’m excited!

With your announcement about missions work, how will your travel plans be changing?

    • I just updated the website and travel schedule yesterday. Basically I am no longer on tour with the band at all, and am spending this summer at home and visiting friends/family before I move September 20th to Peru. After I move, we only get one 3 week vacation in the 28 month commitment. So my traveling life will pretty much stop for that 2.5+ years. Wild eh?!
